Lucy Mortimer
Founder Investments, IC Member
Lucy is a founding partner of Archipelago Ventures. An environmental finance specialist who brings 25+ years experience within climate finance and low carbon investment, Lucy has a strong commercial background, having built businesses and teams across large financial institutions including Tradition and Nedbank. She has advised and worked for funds including Althelia’s first Natural Capital investment fund, and has an excellent network to help startups and young companies succeed in overcoming commercial barriers. She holds a BA Hons degree in Architecture from Manchester University.

Justin Guest
Founder Investments, IC Member
Justin is a founding partner of Archipelago Ventures. An environmental finance specialist with 25+ years’ experience across various climate finance and renewable markets, Justin has a strong technical background and was previously an Investment Advisor to the £310m London listed Trading Emissions PLC (TEP), with responsibility across origination, transaction management, and investment management as well as sitting on investee company boards. Justin has also advised large private emerging markets equity funds in relation to carbon, and acquisition financing for a range of renewable assets. He holds a First Class chemistry degree and a Master degree (Distinction) in Environmental Technology from Imperial College, University of London.

Stephen West
Chief Risk Officer, IC Member
Stephen has over 25 years principal investment and private equity experience with a personal track record of successful deals and investment returns, establishing and operating funds, implementing good governance and holding senior roles on Fund Investment Committees. A Founding Partner of Actis, a leading private equity investor with US$8bn AUM, he specialises in bringing financial rigour and oversight to investments and impact strategies. Stephen has an MBA from Strathclyde University and is a member of CIMA, and over 40 years of international, financial, accounting and senior management experience across diverse industry groups.

Oliver Adams
Chief Operating Officer
Oliver Adams FCCA is a results-driven finance executive with over 15 years of experience in financial leadership roles across the renewable energy, real estate, and circular economy sectors. With a strong foundation in compliance, financial controls, and strategic operations, he has held senior positions at organisations such as Camco Clean Energy, where he led financial operations and was instrumental in the company’s growth and FCA authorisation. Oliver has more recently brought his expertise to a range of innovative start-ups focused on climate impact, circular plastics, and clean energy infrastructure. A qualified accountant (FCCA) and Business Finance graduate from Durham University, he combines technical excellence with hands-on leadership and a passion for impactful, sustainable ventures.

Kevin Vyse

Kevin Vyse is an expert in plastics and packaging, having worked in the packaging industry for over 35 years. He has a degree in Engineering and is a qualified Industrial Designer and Packaging Engineer. He has held posts throughout the packaging supply chain with some of Europe’s best known brands and retailers such as Tesco and Marks and Spencer as well as Muller Dairy and Premier Brands and so has a well-rounded understanding of the issues facing todays packaging needs.
He is a keen advocate of the Circular Economy and has worked with the UK Government’s Advisory Committee on Packaging, Ellen MacArthur Foundation on the New Plastics Economy, The HRH Prince Of Wales Sustainability Unit and also with the UN Transforming Tourism programme. In his current role he manages a team that continues to push the frontier on sustainable packaging and the applying of circular design principles to the creation of packaging solutions.

Claudia Amos

Claudia Amos, one of the Directors at Ceres Waste, Renewables and Environment, is a sustainability professional with over 25 years experience in the international waste, circular economy and renewables sector. Her expertise covers commercial diligence on waste and recycling projects, undertaking strategic reviews and business plan assessment for investors, technology and project developers as well as producers, brands and retailers. She focusses on finding solutions to reduce, re-use and recycle waste to make the most of our resources and mitigate climate change.

Mark Goldsmith

With over 30 years of experience in Sustainability, Accountability, Responsible Investment, Safety & Risk, Governance, and the Environment, Mark has worked at the highest level in Financial Services, Management Consultancy and Development. He has worked internationally in many sectors including Energy, Oil and Gas, Financial Services, Consumer Goods, Healthcare, Agriculture, Industrials and Technology.

She developed a 360ᵒ view on complex supply chains related to Sustainability in various sectors including textile, fragrance and packaging.
Sophie currently serves as Global Director Sustainable Packaging at Mars and has joined several boards of start ups.

Paul Foulkes Arellano
Strategic Advisor
Paul has spent most of his 38-year career working in design and innovation, specialising in sustainable innovation for global brands. In 2020 Paul founded Circuthon® Consulting, a circular economy consultancy offering training and coaching to aid business leaders in the transition to a circular economy model. He also holds several non-executive roles in novel materials and sustainable metrics platforms.
From 2017-21 he was a technical advisor and media spokesperson for NGO, A Plastic Planet.
He founded Sustainable Design Alliance in 2019 which he ran until 2023.
Since 2021 he has worked closely with forestry protection charity Canopy Planet in Vancouver.
Paul is best known as the founder of Circular Footwear Initiative ( founded 2020) and Circular Fashion Initiative ( founded 2021). He is the co-author of “Materials & Sustainability: Building a Circular Future” published by Routledge in 2024. His next book is “The Future of Footwear” (2026). In June 2024 Paul was selected to join the UK Design Council’s Expert Network as one of the design thinkers working on “Design for Planet”, a major national initiative.
